Bangalore: Man held for killing wife

A case has been registered in Suntikoppa police station regarding the murder of a woman by her husband at Nakuru (Kanbailu) village. Police have arrested the accused Chandra on charges of murdering his wife Padma (36), who suspected her chastity.
The family was staying in a home in the premises of a coffee plantation in Nakuru. The couple were reportedly working in the same plantation. Police said the accused had assaulted his wife continuously for the past three days suspecting an extra-marital affair. He had beaten her severely on Tuesday morning too and Padma reportedly died when she was being carried to the government hospital in Suntikoppa, police informed.
Kushalnagar Circle Inspector Vijayaprasad, Suntikoppa sub-inspector Thimme Gowda visited the spot. Produced to court Police produced Rishikumar, who was arrested in Bangalore after he escaped while being taken to the jail in Kushalnagar, in the court here on Monday evening. He had been brought to Somwarpet from Bangalore Central Jail for an enquiry regarding a case. However, while returning to Bangalore, he had escaped from police in Kushalnagar. Later, he was again arrested at Bangalore on June 29.
DySP M Narayan informed that a case has been registered against Rishikumar for reportedly giving a life threat to one Viju over telephone when he was absconding. |
