Bommai asks V-P’s office to clarify goof-up

Belgaum district in-charge minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said that Vice President Hamid Ansari’s office must clarify on its goof-up on the Belgaum in Maharashtra case and the Centre too must take a look into the case.

He was referring to the case in which a letter from the Vice President’s office addressed
to the Superintendent of Police, Belgaum, was found to have mentioned Belgaum to be part of Maharashtra.
Instances of the like gives cause for complications in a federal set up, Bommai said and added that in the given situation a larger responsibility rested with the Centre. The Centre must see that instances of the like do not repeat, he said.
