Fire broke out at the valuation centre of the Bangalore University at its Jnanabharati campus on Monday evening. The extent of damage caused and the reason for the fire are yet to be ascertained.BU registrar Prof MG Krishnan, however, suspected that the fire accident to be “intentional”. “Fire broke out in two different rooms on different floors. There was no chance of it spreading across these two rooms, if it was accidental. It looks intentional,” he said. The fire broke out around 6 pm, after all the staff at the valuation centre, located next to the administration block, had left for the day. BU registrar (evaluation) Prof Talwar said that there were some answer scripts inside the room that caught fire. “All these are valuated answer scripts,” Talwar said. He said that they were conducting an inquiry. The storekeeper has been summoned to get details. The fire department personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. |
