Six Ulfa militants arrested in Bangalore

ImageThe Bangalore city police arrested six terrorists belonging to the banned outfit PREPAK, a wing of the United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa), in Mahadevapura, a suburb in Bangalore. The police zeroed in on a house in Mahadevapura and arrested two of the six insurgents on Friday (June 20) and the other four were arrested today (June 21).

The militants, who were posing as IT professionals were wanted in cases of extortion and other terror activities in the north eastern states. Six mobile phones, fifteen SIM cards and other documents have been recovered from them. They were arrested after a search operation was carried out following tips from Manipur Military Intelligents, police said.
The militans were nabbed from different locations as they were staying with their friends in the city. Interrogation was on and more associates were expected to be picked up soon, police said. Police was investigating why the Ulfa militants came to the city.
